For this video we’re answering a question that was in the YouTube comments section about Facebook organic reach. Watch the full video about increasing Facebook organic reach below:
We recently saw in a Hootsuite blog that the organic reach of any Facebook post is 5.2%. How can we increase this? In what ways can you work with this statistic to improve our Facebook page reach? Here are some helpful tips below:
First, think about how many times you’re posting content. If you’re posting daily and multiple times a day, then sorry, but nobody wants to see you that much. People are just going to mute or unfollow you. We want quality over quantity. Of course, if your Facebook page has millions of fans, then you can create a lot more content, but for a smaller company (maybe less than 1000), you’ll need to create less. If your fans are across time zones, then that’s something else you need to think about because that might allow you to curate more content for your Facebook page. This brings us to our next point:
It’s helpful to check your analytics because you can determine the best times to post, especially if you know that people live in different parts of the world. This can be done on your Facebook page in the insights tab. By going here, you can check your posts and see what engagement is like during certain times on specific days. For our own page, it looks like most of my fans are on my page at 8:00 AM, so I’ll try and post at 6:30/7:00 AM. You want to post in that sweet spot just before everyone logs in so that they see you or you can post in between this time. It’s helpful to play around with posting times and see what works for you.
The next thing I want to talk about is the types of posts you can share. Do you think your fans will like live streams? Photos? Shared links? Recorded videos? Be sure to post a variety and see what gets the most engagement. The more that fans engage with your posts, the more your organic reach goes up. So you really need to cater to your audience when you’re posting.
I’m planning to do another video on the perfect Facebook post because there’s so much that can turn people off. We want to keep the above points in mind so that you can increase your engagement and keep valuable content on your Facebook page.
HOW TO USE HASHTAGS ON FACEBOOK
Another thing I want to mention is hashtags. Try to avoid flooding your posts with hashtags because it can look spammy. I know there’s a lot of cross-posting from Instagram (where hashtags are loved), but that’s not the case with Facebook. For Facebook, try to use only 1-2 hashtags or even no hashtags. Play around with it and see what your post engagement is like.
Remember that every audience is different. What works for eJenn solutions may not work for your page, which is why it’s so important to take a look at your insights. Just keep giving them what they want and keep in mind that they like you because THEY gain something for themselves. We hope this was helpful.
